The Lizzie Borden House is for sale
Here's a link to the Autostraddle article about it.
I just posted this in my Gothic Book Club group to see if anyone's up for buying the house and making it a gay goth commune. Will report back with their reactions.

This would also be like 10 very poor people collecting their money and saying "We have a vision. I know this is worth millions, but we're mere thousandaires with a dream." So this is not a serious post. (But what if it WAS?)
And because I'm That Person I found the listing.

But the house itself is lovely and very solidly built and probably - hopefully - up to modern standards and well-maintained if it's also a business.
Still, this? This listing? Is kind of worrisome in its lack of specificity. Would you have to refurnish? Why is it not listing the square footage?

RealLiving shows it, but there's literally no price history, price per square foot, nothing - what are they trying to hide? I assume they're trying to hide something. A total lack of yard? Which may be great if you hate yardwork.
Google Maps shows that there's basically no front yard on either side, it's all driveway and maybe neighbor yard? I mean, with nine parking spots, I bet there's no backyard either.
But I doubt it's that big a house if they're not telling you what size it is in comparison to the cost - $2mil - and they're not telling you how much the B&B and ghost tours will make. I would love it, but omg, so chancy, especially in this environment.
Which I am saying because if you have a bunch of Gay Thousandaires with a dream of making a Goth Commune, you might have some negotiating power, that's what I'm saying. Go for it. Live your Goth Lizzie Borden House dreams, please.

And yes that floral ugh. But I might be able to update it to keep it within my taste and still meet historic registry standards. At least, in the primary living spaces. Obviously not thinking about doing too much renovation of the main spaces people would tour.
The house itself looks like it's at least 2 stories, with a basement, so a goodly amount of space. I'd be curious about the living space vs. business space breakdown, because that would be what really got me.
This is very much not a *real* possibility, but a theydy can dream, right?

I'm certain there would be a LOT of things you could do to keep it historic registry-legit.
You should dream! Dreams are what keep us going. Plus I love hearing about your dreams for this one, it's an amazing dream.
