Just got called by someone working on this rally at the national level, saying we aren't hitting our numbers. She said "it's not your fault!" but subtext: it is my fault because I'm in charge of recruitment.

She also forgot that I was only hired on to this rally part time. 20 hours a week? NOTHING when you're trying to get 3,000 people to RSVP to a rally.

(Who RSVPs to a rally anyway? NO ONE. That's why this is so hard.)

Everything feels fruitless right now. I had been feeling so good about it, but now I just feel panicked and little and frustrated.

Heh we're supposed to RSVP to a rally? That will never work. But I could RSVP and still go with my plan to decide on the day of if I have the energy to go, if that helps you. ;)

EXACTLY. Basically everyone in the metro area will just decide the day of - they'll be like "RSVP? Pshhht"

Also, you're hired on JUST for the rally as well - what's your PERSONAL stake in it if it doesn't meet the numbers set forth? You go on to your own things and also the rally is going to be great period.

So, uh, what if someone doesn't want the whole internet to know that they're going to a rally? Like, I feel like that's a Thing now, even if it's for something like an environmental or I dunno animal welfare rally? Privacy is a thing.

Also, I don't even RSVP to Meetup groups, because I never know what my body is going to be like on a particular day, so yes. Ugh.
